Hello friends!! This is my review policy 🙂
I prefer Adult, Young Adult, and Young Reader books for review but I’m willing to venture into other genres if the plot interests me! (I’m a total sucker for fantasy so if you have a fantasy novel I’m pretty much guaranteed to read it 😉 ) You can send emails to email@example.com for genre inquiries.
I accept print ARCs, finished copies, audiobooks and e-books. If the book is a part of a series, then I may need the previous books unless I’ve already read them.
You can check and see if your book is on my TBR list. If it’s on there, I DEFINITELY WANT TO READ IT! But I’m also very into the following:
-Fantasy (YA or adult)
-Fairy tale/myth retellings
-Pretty much anything involving faeries or dragons
I am NOT accepting books in the following genres:
-Free verse novels
-Short story compilations
-Any religious fiction
If I accept a book for review, and finish it, a review is guaranteed!
I will make every effort to read and review in a timely fashion and with regard to release dates, but I cannot guarantee this. I prefer to receive a book 2-3 months prior to when you would like the review posted, but don’t hesitate to send an email if that timeframe doesn’t work!
I write reviews for about 95% of the books I finish. All of my reviews will be posted here on my blog, my goodreads, instagram, and (if you want!) my booktube. I can also tweet about it at your request, but I don’t get on twitter very much hehe. My reviews are written in a relaxed manner and are not meant to be objective literary critiques.
I write fair and honest reviews, however, not all of them are positive. My reviews are my opinion, and if I don’t enjoy a book then my review will reflect that.
With that said, I strive to explain why the book in question did not work for me personally. I do NOT write nasty or snarky commentary about the author. My goal is not to try to persuade people not to read a book, I always encourage people to make their own opinions.
If I do not finish a book I will usually write an explanation for DNF-ing. These explanations are different from standard reviews and will state that I did not finish the book, what page I read up to, why I did not finish, and if I plan on ever picking up the book again.
For books that have already been published (i.e. NOT an ARC), I will do more of a relaxed review. See my previous book reviews here. All reviews of ARCs or books not yet released will include the following:
-Book stats: Title, author, publisher, page count, release date, series status
-My review: What I liked and didn’t
★★★★★ = This book is my child. I will talk about it endlessly and will annoy the shit out of anyone who brings it up because I HAVE SO MANY FEELINGS ABOUT IT.
★★★★☆ = I really enjoyed this book! Definitely will recommend it to people.
★★★☆☆ = This book was good, but had a couple issues/things I didn’t like. Overall a good read though!
★★☆☆☆ = Wasn’t a fan of the book at all.
★☆☆☆☆ = (I rarely, if ever, give one star reviews!) Hated this book and will tell people not to waste their time reading it.
I would be so so thrilled to host a giveaway for or with you! Winners will be chosen with a random name generator 🙂
If you would like me to host a giveaway for a book, please be sure to include the following information in your request:
-Format of the book (ARC, hardcover, softcover, audiobook)
-Shipping requirements (US, US/CA, or International)
-Run time of the giveaway
-Any additional information you would like included (photo of prize, blurb, signed?, etc)
Author Guest Posts and Interviews:
I LOVE INTERVIEWS!! I have recently started youtube channel and I would love to do reviews/interview authors!! I am also happy to host authors on my blog and do written interviews. You can see one of my previous author interviews here! Shoot me an email if you’re interested. It would be great if you could answer these questions but no pressure we can definitely talk about it later over email:
-Your name and the name of your book
-A brief description of your book (or link to Goodreads)
-Do you prefer a guest post or an interview? Will you provide a topic/questions or would you like me to? *
-The month/date you would like to be featured**
-If you would like to include a giveaway
*Please note: If I have not read your book yet and you are coming up with your own guest post topic, then I prefer, but do not require, you send me a copy of your book.
If I have not read your book yet and I am coming up with the guest post topic or interview questions, then I require a copy of your book and 3-4 months advance time to read your book. If this is not possible for some reason but your book is on my TBR, then we can try to work something out.
THANKS FOR READING ❤
